In Memory of Bobby Durden

Bobby Ray Durden Profile Photo

The Gadsden County community is saddened by the passing of Bobby Ray Durden on April 24.  In accordance with Bobby’s wishes, memorial donations in memory of Bobby Ray Durden may be made to the Havana History and Heritage Society.

Bobby was a founding member and played an instrumental role in the success of the Havana History and Heritage Society and Museum since its founding in 2017. His deep knowledge of Gadsden County history—especially the local shade tobacco industry, tobacco barns, and area farms—served as a cornerstone for many of the museum’s exhibits and displays.  We deeply appreciate all that Bobby contributed. He will be greatly missed for his wisdom, knowledge, kindness, and unwavering support.

Memorials made in his name will help support our ongoing efforts to restore the historic Planters Exchange Building and Museum site in downtown Havana.
