Volunteers & Paid Workers too...Thursday Workdays allow us to accomplish work and avoid more expensive work repairs or construction costs as we restore and maintain this historic site (the Planters Exchange is a National Registered Historic Site).
Work tasks range from basic construction to clean-up and landscaping, painting minor repairs... and more advanced work with work workers, electricians, plumbers, who help in overseeing work, plans & material orders, and design or repairs.
PAID WORKERS TOO! As likely noticed, there are many projects to maintain and improve this historic site and the various shops & offices, Pavilion, Auditorium, and grounds. These activities can allow us to accomplish many of the improvements, repairs, and maintenance that can provide paid part-time work opportunities for those with more advanced skills, as well as helpers who can work part-time; even if just 4 hours a week. (work projects also often occur on times/days other than Thursdays)
Currently there are multiple projects, with the need for workers from 12 - 40 hours per week on various projects. Call or text Bill Piotrowski (850-510-4979), Laura white (954-646-1961), or Pat Kitching (352-214-1831) for further information.

LITTLE HAVANA OPRYCome help us celebrate 100 years of the Grand Ole Opry with our very own Opry show in little ole Havana! Anna's longtime dream has been to play the Opry, but until then, she thought it'd be fun to bring the show to YOU ;) So, she has put together an amazing line up of artists (including one who has accompanied Billy Dean at the Grand Ole Opry!) to put on an amazing night of country music! Enjoy timeless classics like "Hello Darlin", "Lovesick Blues", "Coal Miner's Daughter", "Mama Tried" and so much more. We will have a guest emcee just like at the Opry, as well as printed programs with all the artists info, custom merchandise, AND a great photo op in the "Little Havana Opry" circle. There will be food trucks starting at 5pm if you'd like to come early to eat or check out the great local restaurants right around the corner from the venue! Get your tickets today as seating is limited! |

Dale Cox will be joining us in person to debut his newest book, Alcatraz: Escape to the Wiregrass — This book unveils a new story of Frank Lee Morris, Clarence Anglin, and John Anglin, the three men who escaped from the infamous U.S. Penitentiary at Alcatraz Island, in 1962. Authors Dale Cox and Rachael Cox delve into the unknown side of the Alcatraz mystery. The result is a fascinating dive into the Alcatraz escape and its connections to the Wiregrass area of Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. Hear Dale share his research and insights, ask questions, and enjoy a book signing following the talk.
